Death: October 18, 1778
Husband of Sarah (Wheeler) Hartwell. Previously married to Elizabeth (Brown) Hartwell. They married at Concord, Massachusetts on September 22, 1713. Son of John Hartwell and Priscilla Wright. Grandson of William Hartwell 1613-1689, first in America to Concord, Massachusetts and Susan Jazan Fletcher Hartwell.

Handbook of Hartwell Genealogy, 1636-1887, pg. 3Jonathan was a bricklayer, removed to Chelmsford, settling in 1721, on the Asaph B. Cutter farm, in what was later cut off as Westford, and finally Littleton, where he died. He was lieutenant of militia, so denoted in the Littleton records to distinguish himj from his cousin, Mr. Johnathan Hartwell b. 1686, an earlier settler in that town.
