WILLIAM TAYLOR 1625-1696

Background of William TaylorWilliam came to America from London, England, on the ship Truelove in 1635. According to the ship's manifest, there were four Taylors on this voyage: Richard, age 16; William, age 17; Anna, age 24; and James, age 28.

William settled in Concord, Massachusetts. His name first appears in the town records as early as 1650, where he had a house lot near what is now known as Merriam's Corner on Lexington Road (then called Bay Road).

William and his wife Mary (Merriam) Taylor had seven children, all born in Concord, Massachusetts:
Mary, born 19 February 1649.
John, born 19 October 1653.
Samuel, born 3 July 1655; died in a few days.
Abraham, born 14 November 1656; married Mary Whittaker.
Isaac, born in 1659.
Jacob, born 8 May 1662.
Joseph, born in 1665.
