Abstract of will from Archdeaconry of Berks
Francis Bushnell, yeoman of Thatcham, County Berks, will date 15 August 1625, Proved 15 March 1625/6. No wife mentioned; bequests to eldest son Nicholas, his best brass pot and his bay mare; to son Ralph 40 pounds, and he engages his two piddles (pightles) in Thatcham, for the same; to son Francis three tenements in Thatcham called Baalls, for 20 years, he paying yearly to his brother Nicholas; to Margery Bushnell, daughter of Richard Bushnell 2s, and to the rest of his God-children 12s each; to Thatcham church 10 groats (3s 4d) and to the poor there 20s. Residuary legatee and executor, his son Francis. Overseers Mr John Winchcombe Esq of Henwicks, John Powell, yeoman of Thatcham, Richard Bushnell inn holder and Robert Humphrics inn holder, to each of whom he gave 5s. Witness: John Powtes, William Waller and Robert Humphrey "to the handing over of this will of Francis Bushnell, by reason of ye contagion and infection of his disease." Inventory taken 2 Jan 1625/6 by Robert Buchnell, Richard Cove, William Knight, Edward Coxe and Richard Dobson. Proved 15 Mar 1625/6 by the executor.

From Bushnell Family Genealogy: Ancestry and Posterity of Francis Bushnell (1580-1646) of Horsham, England and Guilford, Connecticut, by George Eleazar Bushnell. An abstract of the will of Francis Bushnell reads:
Francis Bushnell, Yeoman of Thatcham, County Berks, requests to eldest son Nicholas his best brass pot and his bay mare: to son Ralph L40: to son Francis three tenements in Thatcham called Baalls for 20 years. To his brother Nicholas: to Margery Bushnell daughter of Richard Bushnell 2 shillings. Joan not named in will but mentioned in the will of her grandfather Nicholas as under age in 1591.

Actually signed on shipboard on the way to New England: We, whose names are hereunder written, intending by God's gracious permission to plant ourselves in New England, and, if it may be, in the southerly part, about Quinnipiack. We do faithfull promise each to each, for ourselves and families, and those that belong to us, that we will, the Lord assisting us, sit down and join ourselves togeth in one intire plantation; and to be helpful each to the other in every common work, according to every man's ability and as need shall require; and we promise not to desert or leave each other or the plantation but with the consent of the rest, or the greater part of the company who have entered into this engagement.

As for our gathering together in a church way, and the choice of officers and members to be jointed together in that way, we do refer ourselves until such time as it shall please God to settle us in our plantation.In witness whereof we subscribe our hands, the first day of June 1639.

Will dated 1st December, 1659: In the name of God, Amen. I Richard Bushnell of Norwalk, being of perfect memory though weake in Body, do make this my last Will and Testament. I doe give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved wife Marcy Bushnell the 1/2 of whatsoever shall remain, and the other half I doe give and bequeath to my 4 children, allowing my 2 sons each of the £5 more than to my 2 daughters, and this I desire may be imployed for them until they shall bee of sufficient age or marryed, wch soever shall first come to passe. I request Matthew Marvin, sen., Nathaniel Richards and Richard Olmsted of Norwalk to be Overseers.
